The real winner from the project approach will be the environment, particularly our western beaches and the upper Waitemata Harbour – a positive impact on one of our city’s most treasured assets. The project is expected to significantly reduce the amount of wastewater pollution that enters the Waitemata Harbour around Westmere and remove 30 of the points where wastewater pollution overflows.
