A better harbour through better infrastructure

Since February 2008 we have been working on a major upgrade of the drainage network in the Kingsland and Eden Terrace areas, including upper Mt Eden, Newton Gully and parts of Morningside. This upgrade is being undertaken by Clear Harbour Alliance and represents a significant investment by Metrowater and Auckland City Council in improving drainage infrastructure and protecting the environment.

The drainage upgrade will reduce the amount of wastewater pollution that overflows into the waterways leading to the Waitemata Harbour around Westmere and will enable the removal of 30 of the points where wastewater pollution overflows. It will also ensure that the drainage infrastructure can cope with forecast growth.

Works Nearing Completion

We are now very close to the completion of the project with remaining works concentrated in sub-catchments 14A and 14B.  Minor remedial works are also continuing in sub-catchments 5 and 13. 

By the end of February 2010, the Clear Harbour Alliance project office will have closed. However, you will still be able to contact someone for any questions or queries using our contact details.
